Sparta Jag v Fir Park Corner
Glasgow Green
ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL
Sparta Jag continued their winning ways in the Internet league with a
comprehensive 3-0 victory over Motherwell on a bitterly cold Saturday
morning in Glasgow.
The Jags took the lead in only 8 minutes when a McIntyre corner was bulleted
home by the head of Ferguson. Anderson and Thomas were causing the Motherwell
rearguard some moments of difficulty and Sparta should have added to their
early goal. Some good saves from the Well no. 1 kept out Anderson and then
Kirkwood as half time approached.
Taylor had to look sharp to head away a dangerous inswinging corner at the
far post with the Motherwell no. 27 looking to head home.
Half time: Sparta Jag 1 Fir Park Corner 0
Sparta continued with their patient football and finally scored again in the
72nd minute when Thomas exchanged passes with Kirkwood before slipping the
ball into the net.
The player-manager then scored the goal of the game when he took McIntyre's
pass and smashed it in to the top corner of the net from 20 yards.
