SPARTA HIT 7 AS BAIRNS TAKE BATTERING

Sparta Jag got back to winning ways in the Internet league following their reversal down in Ayr. Manager Kirkwood was looking for the victory and sent out an attacking line up.

Falkirk weathered the early storm and went into the lead when a long ball caught out the Sparta defence and Burnside was beaten at his near post by the Falkirk no 10. Sparta were stunned by the strike but fell further behind when the bairns no 11 side footed home after a scramble in the box. 2 down, Kirkwood changed things around with Ferguson going up front.

Sparta then hit back in blistering fashion. McIntyre, having spurned 4 good chances, earned a free kick. Walker bent a vicious ball over and Kirkwood was on hand to turn the ball home. Then McIntyre sped into the box and drilled the ball past the advancing keeper into the net. 2-2 became 2-3 2 minutes later as debutant Fyfe controlled the ball on his chest before powering it home - 3 goals in 7 minutes.
